  • 1-2 large cucumbers
  • ¼ cup of sweet onion
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 ½ tbsp. of sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 tsp of black pepper
  • 3 sprigs of fresh dill, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, peeled and smashed
  • 1 punch of red pepper flakes
  • 1 bay leaf


  1. Slice cucumber into chips, about 1/8 inch
  2. In a small pot, combine water, vinegar, garlic, dill, sugar, salt, pepper, and pepper flakes and bring to a simmer
  3. Let the mixture cool, and place the slices in a mason jar, and leave an inch of space at the top
  4. Pour the liquid mixture on top, until all the cucumbers are submerged
  5. Put the lid on the jar and put in fridge for 24 hours before eating
